Use Optimal Fridge and Freezer Settings
Running your fridge or freezer at extreme temperatures can increase the amount of energy they consume. We are not recommending you turn them as low as possible to lower your energy consumption, but we are recommending you run them at the optimum temperature, so they don’t consume more energy than is necessary. If you want to know what this sweet spot is, check your appliance manual or contact the manufacturer. It will save you money over the long run and extend the lifetime of your appliances.
Run Your Dishwasher at Night
Some utility providers increase their rates during peak hours when most people are using their appliances and devices. If you want to know if your provider does this, then give them a call and just ask them. If they say they do, then we recommend you run your dishwasher at night since it consumes both electricity and water.
