Federal Government Announces Support and Changes for International Students Studying at Canadian Universities

Earlier this week, the Government of Canada announced a number of measures to support international students pursuing an education at a post-secondary institution in Canada. They said the purpose of these changes is to give students “more certainty about their ability to enter Canada once travel and health restrictions are eased.” Some of the highlights include;

  • Clarifying eligibility criteria for online studies to count toward post-graduate work permits

  • Providing priority study-permit processing for some students
